Yeah, the details make it pretty clear why they didn't/couldn't charge him. The way the media reported it at first made it look a lot worse. Alabama is an open carry state too.

Idk the details enough but it does seem wild to deliver someone a gun used in a homicide (assuming it was ruled a homicide and not any kind of self defense) without any sort of charges. Is it even legal to drive around with someone's gun knowingly in your possession?

At the end of the day the only reason he wasn't charged with SOMETHING is because of his stature and being headed to the NBA.
