I don't think anyone is upset he didn't catch a charge. Speaking for myself I'm just surprised. It usually seems like they're try to tag em with an accessory charge and then drop it if they don't think it will stick.
He’s lucky this happened in Alabama. Alabama is an open and concealed carry state, you don’t need a permit to have a gun. The gun being in his car wasn’t illegal. Him driving with the gun wasn’t illegal. The gun wasn’t even his so him giving the gun to its rightful owner wasn’t illegal.
Once he gave the gun to its owner at that point he has no involvement after.
And the gun owner gave it to someone else.
