No they're just giving the dudes out there murdering people the guns and the money and the complete lack of societal structure that allows them to do so.
You can't just murder gangs in the Favelas and expect to solve literally anything. All you do is make it worse, you have to solve the root issue, which is that Brazil has never recovered from the Dictatorship and that the military still runs the show. That wanton governmental corruption needs to be weeded out by people with a vested interest in weeding it out. Not the man who appointed the most corrupt, crony filled cabinet he could have possibly done. All his campaign promises were lies to concentrate more power and expand his own wealth and influence. He has no desire to help his country he just wants to kill as many people as he can to line his and his friends pockets. The reason the gangs are going to war with the dude is because he's trying to muscle them out so he can control the territory not because he's doing anything to improve the standard of living so that the narcos have no reason to exist.
This "countries in turmoil need a strongman" argument has never held true, ever. All the strongman does is concentrate power and even if they do manage to root out some corruption they just replace it with their own. What Brazil needs isn't a strongman and a return to the 80's where you could just shoot criminals, immigrants, indigenous Brazilians and gay people dead on the street because they exist. They need structure and a legitimate government that's representative of the people, not the special interests and the military.
Actually murdering gangs would solve a lot of the problems but again you ignore the fact that they are going after white collars as well , because it doesn't fit your rant.
Just like they are doing in Phillipines you may not like the path but you can't argue with results .
White collars aren't the ones creating gang structure that terrorizes their own people in the flavelas . There is social economic reasons of course but this mentality of blaming rich people for the deplorable actions of gangs is a cop out..
I have no problem with Brazil getting touch in crime , you see Phillipines crime rate down by 20-30% .(except murder rates ). Then you look at places like Singapore where they are tough on pretty much every crime . You have to go that route and it's all the above strategy....youre naive to think adding more wealth or education or whatever your liberal mind thinks these people need will stop the gang violence . Last time I checked cartels aren't white collars
Again you got in yoursoapbox appealed to emotional but there was no substance . What is the solution in Brazil ...just give me an example?
Even in Italy they had to go to war with the mafia to uproot it , same in the US....show me an example where blood wasn't spilled to stop the maniacal violence
