In the name of capitalism which requires competitive markets.

In my opinion the corporation and its only aim being, 'to increase shareholder revenue' is bringing the world to ruin. So while this guy makes some good points saying he thinks this because he is a capitalist he is really just trying to be taken more seriously. Because as he points out a couple of time socialism doesn't get respect. But really some things are better if they had a non-profit model, specifically news and politics.
What does HL think of his premise?

Technically Google has already done this.

They did a corporate re-structuring a couple years ago so Google is no longer the parent company (the parent company is now called "Alphabet Inc.") they've also broken up some of their subsidiaries to allow them more freedom.
Hmm . . . are the subsidiary private companies or public ones traded separate from Alphabet Inc.?

Some were spun off, and others are wholly-owned subsidiaries. Basically allowing Google to focus on web services while other teams work on other Google-spawned projects (Google Fi, drones, self-driving cars, AI/machine learning, etc.)

Yeah, after doing some research they are still owned by Alphabet and/or Google so no they need to be separated from those entities to be truly broken up.
