Did I really just see someone dismiss poverty as a reason for high crime rates and blame an infatuation of the gangster lifestyle? How would that explain the fact that other poor countries, with no exposure to a "thug/gangsta" lifestyle, also have high rates of crime and violence? You don't believe that white people get their parents to pay for school? What are any of these views based on? Come on, guys.

There's a difference between excuses and explanations. The way that some of you talk about black people, and poor people, is unreal. Its like you view both groups as sub-human species. I doubt many of you have actually studied sociology, or even taken basic poverty/sociology classes in school if these are the opinions that you hold. Studies on poverty (from legitimate researchers, not pseudo-intellectuals) are readily available on the Internet that can explain how poverty is related to crime. Research shows that, overall, poor people don't value education any less than wealthy people.

I don't think this thread was meant to be taken seriously, but some of the posts in here are cringe-worthy.
