Dude had a long history of drug problems...but he also has been quoted talking about his depression and how he really doesn't even think he's deserving of his own success.

On one hand in surprised to hear this, on the other I'm not. Like others have said, I read about his past troubles and could see the battle scars in his eyes. Very sad news though, he was a good person. I've had my own problems in the past and sometimes I feel like I just buried them rather than freeing myself of them so i wonder if Bourdain did the same thing and it caught up to him. I wonder if all the traveling and seeing how fukked up the world is played a part in his suicide. Ever since he joined CNN, his shows were definitely a lot more political and darker and you can see that he wasn't the same person from when he did No Reservations. It's just sad to see one of your idols pass in this way. You can relate to him in so many ways.
