Yeah it’s a chemical imbalance

I used to think depression is an excuse and anyone can just snap out if it until it happened to my cousin who was always a happy go lucky person until depression

He told me It’s not something
you can control nor is it something specific in your life you are unhappy about that makes you depressed and suicidal

He said it makes you feel like everyday is the worst day ever and you can’t get out of it

Luckily he got the right help/meds or whatever and he’s still here but he tried to kill him self once

I’ve dealt with growing up with no friends and nikkas fukking wit me
Not once felt like killing myself

You answered your own question. Black people used to adversity. White people arent. That’s why they off themselves. Black people very rarely do that. It happens but nothing compared to whites. The problem with that is black people avoid getting help because we think it’s soft so black people with mental health issues are never diagnosed. Half them nikkas in prison probably have issues but since we taught to man up since childhood it never gets addressed until it’s a problem.
