Too many reasons to choose from. A party has to go out of their way to have a one-term presidency. Blaming America instead of the administration is just being lazy.
The question is why did America vote for the democrats in 2020 but change their mind in 2024?

One was no longer a factor, two still existed and Americans blamed Dems for not being able to fix it faster (Americas fukkup), Trump being out of office made people feel like "Lets give him another chance!" which is another of America's fukkups, and a bunch of voting that was available due to the pandemic was scuttled with all of the voter suppression but I am sure you already knew that.
2024 was close enough that we see why they did it, the surprise was the demographic flips. Add in Gaza and there you go.
If they do end up caving here, the next 3 years gonna be crazy and there will be no guard rails. Trump & co been doing whatever they wanted since January and them standing on this here was actually showing a little backbone. So even if it gets to the house if he doesn’t vote for it then we can see who the general public, that isn’t paying attention to politics, will blame.
