In hindsight it does seem pointless… I will say that. Again the difference here is most parties are usually willing to negotiate when a shutdown happens. One party wasn’t going to budge no matter what. This shutdown would go into next year and the Republicans still wouldn’t care.

That would've helped Democrats as we'd kill them during the Midterms, but like 20 million people would be without SNAP benefits, and a ton of Federal workers would have to find new jobs. I don't know how Republicans still have people defending them.

We don't really know for sure yet. Basically they are supposed to do a vote on the subsidies next month which was not on the table. The issue is there is no guarantee enough Republicans will vote for them to keep them.
Republicans were never going to allow anything on the ACA and they never will. I think it came down to do we let people keep suffering. Republicans want chaos and were never going to give in. Kamala can be hated on for last year, fine. Although, Dems could have been voted to keep either House or Senate and we still wouldn’t be here because then it forces Rs to work to get anything done. Only way to start going towards any type of progress is vote in Dems(progressive, moderate, socialist, etc.) next year.

1. Failure on the pandemic 2. Prices due to inflation 3. Exhaustion 4. Easier access to remote voting.

One was no longer a factor, two still existed and Americans blamed Dems for not being able to fix it faster (Americas fukkup), Trump being out of office made people feel like "Lets give him another chance!" which is another of America's fukkups, and a bunch of voting that was available due to the pandemic was scuttled with all of the voter suppression but I am sure you already knew that.

2024 was close enough that we see why they did it, the surprise was the demographic flips. Add in Gaza and there you go.
Exactly you proved my point.

1. Biden won in 2020 because trump fumbled the pandemic response, not because of a strong democrat agenda. This is why they should have been preparing another candidate maybe even Kamala by mid-terms instead of sitting on their hands the entire time.

2. Hilary lost in 2016 because she was arrogant and didn’t believe she needed to campaign in key swing states. So trumps first term was a result of democrat incompetence, not republican strength.

People didn’t feel they needed to “give trump another chance” in 2024. You’re forgetting the last time we heard of trump he fumbled the pandemic and he started an insurrection. He left office a disgraced politician. Even some republicans turned on him. The democrats performed so terribly that people voted for trump or stayed home out of spite.

The key factors you named such as aligning America with right-wing extremist Israel so they could commit a racist genocide, out of control inflation and failing economy (and high they denied), allowing donors to pick Kamala instead of having a primary, Biden refusing to step down until donors pulled his funding are all reasons trump won in 2024. Biden even pardoned his son for any crime he committed over a 10 year span after saying for years that he wouldn’t, which turned away a lot of voters.

Stop blaming America and hold your party accountable.

Bro everything is a number until it happens to you. If the dems were sociopaths willing to starve their constituents they would be republicans
I’m smart enough to know it could happen to all of us permanently if things keep up the way they are. This isn’t being a sociopath its being real. People are so misinformed they are contributing to their own demise, until it’s clear what’s happening and why it will get worse. People really need to experience a few months of hell before they are ready to repent. It is the only way to save everyone in the future:hubie:

When you realize they all paid and are cool with each other (both sides), this should not surprise you.
I personally will be happy when we wake up to the game they're playing with us.
Americans are too stupid. They treat politics like it’s a sports team where they root for their side no matter what.

The Republicans will tell the Dems to go fukk themselves. They have absolutely no reason to keep their word.

There is very little the Dems can do for me to not vote for them. The GOP is that bad and deserves to never see office again.

I’ll give you the fact that the Dems thought they had it in the bag. That was irresponsible of them for sure.

I disagree with this. The playbook was out there before this election cycle. From the tariffs, to the immigration policies etc. And yet the people who would suffer from said policies decided to still vote for this thinking that it wouldn’t affect them. The people who voted for this are just as responsible as the administration.
They thought they had 2016 in the bag which is how we got trump 1. They made the same mistake 8 years later so you can’t “blame America”

The people you’re referring to always voted Republican no matter what. The question is why did democrats lose key swing state voters who voted for Biden in 2020?

The answer is the Gaza genocide, the answer lying about bidens health issues, lying about inflation and the economy, starting 2 new wars after we just ended the last 20-year war. Pardoning his son after he said he wouldn’t. The democrats are basically Republican lite.
