Stop uping this, I keep thinking Riley leaving and I'm ready to celebrate

I'm not a USC guy either, but Riley keeping his buddy Grinch in as defensive coordinator could end up costing him his career. What four or five star recruit or top portal player on defense would want to join that team after seeing how little regard Riley has for defense? And you had a Heisman at QB too. It's USC & LA, the NIL money would've came in with consistent wins. Not a good look for him moving forward imoI mean I don't care much for USC one way or the other, and really dislike Lincoln, so I'd love to see him fail. But I'm not going to jump to conclusions yet. So far, it's not looking too promising. I think his biggest issue is the lack of support from the university to buy the players he needs to win at a high level. Especially now they're going to be in the B1G.
Dan Mullen gunning for that USC job?![]()
I agree. Would be a major downgrade from Riley. He's trash. Nobody is f*ckin' with him

I agree it's not a good look for him. Thinks are looking bleak. It's just a matter of principle to see what a program looks like at year 3 or 4 for me to see how a coach is doing, barring some extraordinary circumstances like finishing with 0-1 wins or something crazy like that.I'm not a USC guy either, but Riley keeping his buddy Grinch in as defensive coordinator could end up costing him his career. the coordinator was fired earlier this month, right?Fireable offense if we honest, years of similar results and you think it's okay to run it back? That's a horribly coached defense and it's needs a complete reset
Even if he hires a top notch DC this off-season, I think it'll take at least one full season to start turning it around. When a shytty defense/culture is that deeply engrained, it doesn't turn into a good defense overnight.Fireable offense if we honest, years of similar results and you think it's okay to run it back? Yes, about 2-3 years too late.the coordinator was fired earlier this month, right?

I think his 19th ranked recruiting class is the most damning facet of his future now. He's got a new qb and a tougher schedule coming up.
Plus I think Bohn, the AD who hired him, isn't at USC anymore. New AD might throw him into the bushes if he doesn't shape up quick.

Yep, and apparently he was still hesitant until some boosters got in his assthe coordinator was fired earlier this month, right?

This aint gonna end well for USC. Wasted a generational QB and now needs a real rebuild with a guy who has no idea how to get the defense right.Yep, and apparently he was still hesitant until some boosters got in his ass![]()
With a B1G schedule. This aint gonna end well for USC. Wasted a generational QB and now needs a real rebuild with a guy who has no idea how to get the defense right.

Yes but that bounce should be in the first two seasons especially at a place like USC.It has had an effect but not an accurate one. Portal can boost a team for a year if done correctly and a coach hits on it. But it's hard to really do that year after year at a high level. The base level of recruiting HS players is needed to build an annual contender.
