They paid for the special, it’s apart of the deal. It doesn’t matter if it was a success or a flop. The business is already done and they’ll stand behind it.
If it was a flop the real question would be if they’d sign him to another deal. The answer would likely be no since it wouldn’t be worth the hassle. But since it was a smash success? They’re ready to drop more money on him. Anything to keep him away from Amazon.
Problem that Netflix has is that anything that they can offer, Amazon can match and then some. Even Apple might throw their hat in the ring to obtain his services.
