I definitely agree that you should get something for a player of this magnitude. I don’t think they are wrong for doing it now though versus post June 1st. From what I’ve seen this allows them to take the hit next year in one big cost versus it being on their books spread out over two or three years. If I know next year is a loss then yea let me take the hit now and I’m out from under it going forward free and clear. Cardinals shooting for two top 5 picks next year.
