In todays NFL, unless the dude is a top WR you can't justify paying that guy that type of money at this point in his career. Breh Roddy was gonna make 4 milly next season, by cutting him we save $2 million. That's not a lot of money saved for a trusted veteran & strong locker room guy. What makes this worse is that our former WR coach OG Terry Robiskie is now an OC in Tennessee (which is also a possibility for Roddy) and our new WR coach, Raheem Morris, has coached defense his whole life. Woulda been nice to have a veteran player who could've backed Morris up in WR meetings, now it's just Julio.

See this is the problem with our fanbase. We hate sacred cows but when the organization makes a tough decision everybody is up in arms. This is addition by subtraction.

Matt Ryan will be here next yr so deal with it. We have 30 million to spend so let's fortify the line and add talent. This is an opportunity to get better as a TEAM so why be negative?

Roddy White isn't worth $2 million dollars to this organization? they never even came to Roddy about restructuring his deal, they just outright cut him so again this wasn't a deal where they wanted to keep him. They aren't saving enough money ($2 million) for it to be about anything other than getting rid of a guy who they felt like wasn't part of the solution here. But to say they did this to legitimately save money is bullshyt. BTW, whoever replaces Roddy is going to command more than $2 million a year. Right now we've got Nick Williams, Eric Weems & Justin Hardy behind Julio. Hester is probably done too
