Roddy White isn't worth $2 million dollars to this organization? they never even came to Roddy about restructuring his deal, they just outright cut him so again this wasn't a deal where they wanted to keep him. They aren't saving enough money ($2 million) for it to be about anything other than getting rid of a guy who they felt like wasn't part of the solution here. But to say they did this to legitimately save money is bullshyt. BTW, whoever replaces Roddy is going to command more than $2 million a year. Right now we've got Nick Williams, Eric Weems & Justin Hardy behind Julio. Hester is probably done too

If the Falcons wanted to keep Roddy they would've found a way to make it work, lol at reps for a guy who will be here in the future breh they're getting rid of a player who could've still helped whoever was coming here to get those reps. He was washed up the 2 yrs prior to this season. This coaching staff just wasn't scared to exclude him from the game plan. I commend them for that

Have you forgotten the failed WR Leonard Hankerson who this team brought in to be the #2 WR but was a league leader in drops & ultimately got caught? By giving it to Hankerson they purposely gave it to a guy who didn't help us win

Roddy was definitely on the decline for the past 3 seasons. Only a stan would refute that. The man hadn't topped 1000 yds since 2012. He became more fumble prone. And last yr he was outplayed in the receiving game by freeman and tamme.

And another thing you keep talking about 2 mill. Sure we got 4 mill in dead money this yr...but cutting him now makes it so we don't have any dead money next yr.

He was injury prone and dropped a ton of passes. This coaching staff's preferred #2 WR was a complete bust at the expense of Roddy.

And yea Roddy lost a couple steps but could he have still been a contributor to this team? Yes, only a hater would argue otherwise

It was a bad move for a team lacking in credibility at the moment...what have Quinn & Shanny done to garner so much respect and belief in their system? You get rid of the most competitive player and one of your leaders so that you can save $2 million, is that something as a Falcons fan you're proud of? Honestly there is something else out there that we don't know about. Maybe a locker room issue. I remember him complaining about blocking when we were 5-0. As far as receivers, we have to get one or two in the draft and free agency. There are plenty of successful QBs that have done more with worse.
