I've pretty much been saying this since 2011, and people act like I'm just "hating" and "can't stand to see a young black man get money" () Meek is a very average one dimensional rapper. He has 1 flow and it never changes from song to song. He's not trash, but he ain't some heavyweight either. That's not hating at all, those are facts. He's a very average rapper that is capable of making bangers here and there, and nothing more. If he came out in the early 2000s, he'd be the dude that gets his New Joint premiered on 106 and the song is never heard from again. He's definitely a beneficiary of this watered down era in rap

Gillie put together the top young'ns at the time, 3 Kings and there was no Meek, it was Reed, Haddy & Cyssero. You could name at least 30 better rappers than him in Philly...he wasn't even the best outta the Bloodhounds. But he made a hit (with Jahlil Beatz) and made a couple more, got Charlie Mack behind him, got Cosmic to spin his ish and the rest was history.

No one cares, really. Get his money. But y'all saying ish that everyone been knew. It still doesn't elevate his status in the city, so while y'all look at him as the face..and he is the face of Philly to the mainstream, but everyone saying he's not that great of a rapper, or this-and-that, but it's y'all that gave him that.

The problem others have with him is that Cosmic is viewed as a pay-for-play, and I know there are a few others that he does mess with, he doesn't allow for everyone to have equal ground and let the people decide. If you come to Philly and all you here on local stations is Meek, even though others have songs out there buzzing, you would assume he the only one working. So a lot of other artists had their outside lane cut off inside the city.
