I hate to be the guy but....... the Knicks wasn't going to win a title with Brunson as the centerpiece. They originally signed him to be a legit 2 to go along side Randle. The Knicks had a young core in Quickley, Barrett, Toppin, Grimes...
i can write a book about the Knicks bad moves over the last decade. At the end of the day, This was their only legit shot. And you could tell, when comparing the Knicks to other teams, it wasn't going to get any better. Thibs doesn't match that roster. It's not his fault and it's not the players fault. The entire roster was completely overhauled. Mitchell Robinson is the only player on the roster when Thibs got there. So this isn't his team.

They didn't like how they finished the season and how they struggled in the 1st round.

It's easier to make a change at coach than to put a discerning eye on the roster and conclude that changes are needed to progress. This holds true across all sports.

This was always gonna be the end result. They traded away 5 firsts for Bridges and did the KAT trade. They ain't giving up on that after 1 year

While all of this is true I think Thibs deserved at least one more year with the current roster before they made such a decision.

Yea blame Thibs for having the p*ssyKAT as your 2nd best player. He doesn't play D and neither does Brunson. Having a 7 man rotation andv40% of your starting lineup not play D wont win you a championship. Like seriously? Who gassed p*ssyKAT up and told him he was the best shooting big man ever? Trade him for more depth.

KAT was on the #1 defense in the league the year prior. Thibs couldn’t figure it out.
