The erosion of labor laws and conservative SCOTUS decisions have done more harm and are one of the reasons we have so much corporate money.

And with Trump's latest pick he will swing that balance even further against the rights of workers.

But let's not vote, complain about candidates who would have given you a different outcome..

It only matters if it influences their campaign in a negative way.

But you're suggesting this keeps common folks from voting for candidates despite the results of the previous elections.

We currently have a government led by a billionaire, whose cabinet is filled with billionaire and big business leaders whose picks are all done by donors and the mercers, but you want me to believe that's why people in the Midwest aren't voting dem.

Nah. :keefdontlike:

Campaigns aren't the important part governing is.
Yep. You do know half the country didn't even bother to vote right? And some people voted third party. So yeah a % of the non voters and almost all of the third party voters definitely think it's a waste of time voting for bought off Dems and Republicans.

Why do you think labor laws were eroded? It has nothing to do with legislators campaign contributions?

:duck: stats.

:duck: that meeting with business leaders means you're bought off

What about Warren's voting record makes you believe she's a shill for corporations? I'll wait.

But this is just you still being mad that she supported Hillary of Bernie.

Bye Felicia. :umad:

But first...

Conservatives. Republicans do republican things while they're in office. Like appointing Supreme Court justices who are sympathetic to corporations over labor.

And rolling back regulations.

Both sides. :umad:

How about supporting Hillary over Bernie? Is that a 'stat'? What about claiming the primary was rigged and then less than a week later saying it was fair? Is that a 'stat'?
Bye Felicia?! Don't forget to suck your teeth and neck roll to. :mjlol:

Oh Republicans.
Obama in 2007: 'I'll walk on that picket line' if bargaining rights threatened

Also NAFTA fukked over workers. And it was passed and was signed by a Republican?! Nice try.
U.S. Manufacturing’s Inexorable Decline

Ever since the end of World War II, the share of American workers employed in the manufacturing sector has been in almost steady decline — a trend that predated the inception of Nafta and China’s entry into the World Trade Organization.

If you had to identify an official religion in America it would be money, I think. The vast majority of young people I speak with go to school "to get a job and make lots of money." Money is where Americans find meaning. We value ratings and record sales, big ballers, etc.

And, if we allow money to dominate nearly every other aspect of our culture, why should we be surprised when it dominates politics?

I could be wrong, of course. Just a feeling I get.

It's funny, we're comfortable with money serving as the primary consideration in all other aspects of American life but expect it to not be in politics.
Are we? People complain about the cost of college, healthcare, sporting events, movies, gas, transportation, cable & drugs. What are you talking about?

Complaining about the cost of things seems to fit perfectly with my feeling that money is the focus of all things. What are you talking about?

People want free college, free healthcare, cheaper transportation and prescription drugs. They also want players of sports to be more about the love of the game instead of their next contract, movie talent to do projects for the art and not the money. So no, they don't like money being the 'primary consideration' for these things.
