How exactly would universal healthcare help this situation?

I'd rather take my chances with the healthcare in Europe or Canada, any time. US healthcare is a mess, the system sucks and it's costly.
In fact, medical bills are the main cause of personal bankruptcy in the U.S. That means misery for hundreds of thousands of people.
This isn’t bothering me at all since I’m 100 percent a homebody. Sure I like going out to eat, the movies, concerts but not enough to go even if they lift the shut downs. The only real downside for me is no barber shop

My argument is not in defense of the US healthcare system, its against the fugazi idea being kicked around in this thread that socialist countries are better equipped for this pandemic...

I'm in Britain. The healthcare here is quite decent comparatively. I believe it's the same in most of Western Europe. It's a scam and a tragedy to be charged $35,000 for basic health care.
