Still, is that appropiate to do? We would all have an issue if this was our kids so why defend her? IMO this is franken all over again. Being better requires tough decisions. This is one of them. She had to go but it comes down to her judgement, which is obviously not the greatest.

Alright, I think I get it. I agree re: relationships between a boss and their staff - relationships with that power imbalance - are inappropriate. However, since it happened before the election, that is beyond the purview of congress, so there was no real ethics rule violation. I'm not taking the husbands word wrt a relationship while in office with a male staffer. I mean, he's the one indulging in revenge porn. People are defending her because of that, and because this was a clear case of blackmail carried out by political operatives for Steve Knight and an abusive ex-husband.
