am i supposed to feel sorry for his dumba$$?

why would he even spit some wierdo bars like that? chit aint wavey. and the line was weak on top of that.

Valid point...

I mean all art is subjective.. But this goes completely against his player image..My only thought was he was trying to be a shock comedian on some Tyler The Creator type sh1t and failed miserably...

In other news, Lemon Pepper Wings have also dropped Rick Ross's endorsement. :skip:

Funny but yo, doesn't he own a few Wingstops?

I don't think legally you can sever a relationship with a franchise owner because they're scum, but there might be four or five people who'll stop eating there...

for a week or two.

It depends on the contractual language. Contracts are written to be broken, and the franchisor has all the leverage in these contracts in particular. I wouldn't be surprised if Wing Stop had a way out.

Like i was saying in the kweli thread when nikkas jumped on him for saying ross was misguided....maybe he honestly didn't know that what he was describing was rape?

Either he was going the BIG/EM/DMX route and was fully aware of what he was saying with the intent to shock or be humorous...or he was displaying same kind of mentality at the root of things like the Steubenville case.

To me at least, that makes it more of a conversation to have. Most people with common sense would know that's some fukked up shyt, but it's a lot of people that lack the wherewithal and empathy to actually see the shyt for what it is.

His response being "i would never use the word rape, to describe a rape" instead of just being an entertainer makes me think he wasn't really saying what he said as an attention grab. He is either genuinely confused at this whole thing or his PR team is fukking garbage.

Reebok signed and then dropped a rapper known for glorifying drug and gun violence?

The 215
2 stupid things that keep getting said:

1. "They didn't have a problem with the drugs and killing"--he got protested by feminists who care about feminist problems like rape, every group doesn't have to take action against everything thats wrong in the world. Thats like asking why Ice Cube doesn't write songs about how people get treated in Tibet or whatever. If you got a problem with drugs and killing in hip hop then you protest it...

2. "So rape is worse than murder"-- Yes it is. In damn near every society rape is worse than murder. Go to the movies and see how many movies feature murder vs how many feature a rape. Why do you think that is...
Just because something is accepted doesnt make it any less worse. That shyt makes no sense killing and rape are both bad one isnt worse than the other thats why I always have a problem with all these faux outrage people.

Like I said if you got a big problem with drugs and killing in music :comeon: then start your own protest

That doesn't mean people can't speak out exclusively on the shyt that they care about. This Ross protest was kicked off by black feminist groups anyways. I'm sure if you talked to them they would have a problem with the drugs and violence too. But like folks already said in this thread, that argument was lost in the 90s...

I don't understand why that's even being brought up, this wasn't a moral dilemma with reebok. They don't give a fukk what ross was rapping about. They just don't want the backlash from his actions, the feminists leaned on them and ross wasn't worth the trouble.

:yeshrug:

The people who should be in an outrage and be protesting all that other shyt don't really care, can't be mad at feminists for actually making a move.

Why ain't "his own" got anything to say about it? you starting a rally nikka?

I figured we were speaking out on it now.. and I just might write a strongly worded letter to Reebok H.Q. :ehh:

Ross kept it too real. I don't know why y'all nikkas is acting surprised like nikkas don't do shyt like that. Rich, poor, blacjk, white whatever. I don't endorse or indulge in the behavior, just not gonna act blind to it.
