He's legit. He's that akward white boy that can get buckets and drop dimes.

Leading his team to a strong 9th place seeding :blessed:

More than enough qualification for AKME to supermax him.…locking up a play-in spot is their top reoccurring seasonal objective

He honestly looks same as he'z always have to me. He just has the ball more in his hands which helps him cause he isnt good off ball. He's a old school point guard, can't really defend due to small wingspan can't really shoot either. If you put some shooters and defenders around him you probably can mask his deficiency. Only problem occurs is if you crowd his dribble then it takes him out of the game.

He's shooting 38% from 3.

That's much improved vs the 26.3%, 32.5% and 33.7% percentages on similar volume that he shot while in OKC.

OKC doesn't trade him if he shot this well there.

Yes we do because he's not a great defender. And the way he gets his points is against how we play. If you can't play off the ball you aren't valuable to the thunders system. Josh is a good player just doesn't fit our style of play. As far as 3s he's only made 10 more on same amount of attempts per year. Random variance

I think posters are forgetting that OKC won't be able to pay everyone market price, so trades will have to be made. Not to mention they have Topic as his eventual sucessor.
Different approaches to team building.

If OKC were in the Bulls situation last off-season, they would have traded Caruso for multiple picks, and took Topic in the draft @ 11 instead of trading for Giddey. They have comparable skillsets and weaknesses, OKC is like, instead of paying Giddey, we'll get a rookie that projects to be either equal to or better and have him on a rookie scale deal for the next 4/5 years.

They'll be in a situation next year with Coby White and Ayo... where an organization like OKC flips and replenishes. Front offices like Chicago hold on and just see what happens and eventually get stuck for not being proactive when it's time to pay

yeah the trade had to happen. id disagree with your assessment on his shooting this year. hes a young player whose 3pt shooting has improved every year. hes had good 3pt shooting months in the past but never two straight months shooting at least 36% from 3 until this year. he already did it in both january and february and is sitting at 40% so far in march. not a huge volume sure but all the signs point to him just becoming a better shooter.

One thing I've noticed difference in him right now is he's getting to the line which is something he struggled to do. He has a career .13% ftr he's up to .26 ftr which is great for his career. Not sure if it's random variance contract year or he's figuring out. Regardless he's balling good for him

That's pretty funny how that happened all of a sudden
