A teacher has the right to take your phone if you are using it to disrupt a class, breh.

At the start of class the phones were taken from all of the students so that they wouldn't cause a distraction in the class.

At the end of the class, the teacher refused to hand the phone back as punishment for the kid's alleged bad behaviour during the class. Regardless of whether or not the kid misbehaved the teacher was acting outside of her authority.

Im impartial. I subbed for a while and I told them kids at the Alt. School. I dont give a fukk if you do ya classwork...just keep the volume down and chill. I even played music. Edited ofcourse and I told them they can sit wherever you want..but once you find a seat, stay seated. As sub ya job is to only pass out classwork, and babysit. Dassit.

Them kids was being kids, outside of that...I had 0 issues. Even one of the Alt School kids had asked me to help him get ready for college, he was a junior.

Im not saying all subs, shoulddo this..but alot of subs need to know they place too...you aint a teacher.

I have worked in the school system with kids everyday nearly the last 20 years, so my stupid take holds more validity than anything you talking about.

Here lossing her job is the reason why her first resort should not have been escalating the situation. She was dealing with a child you don't stoop down to a child's level as an adult. Now she's going to have to live with the consequences of her actions.
