Coach of the year award has been a joke. George Karl got fired the year he won it too. They always pick the teams that do a little better than expected and sometimes the coach has little to do with that.

People caping for Casey like he didn't let CJ Miles get switched onto Kevin Love and get taken to school over and over again in Game 2.
Or play JV on Love when it was clear the Cavs were playing 5 out and was abusing him.
By the end of the series dude was just throwing darts out there......playing Bebe and shyt.
A better coach would have gotten more out of this team, even with the culture reset.
Also this team lost a ton of winnable games in which they held leads and struggled against elite competition in the regular season. Its time for a change.

I agree, if anyone should be fired its Nate, but Nate had a great year too and was COY candidate. not surprised Casey got fired but he wasnt a bad coach. he isnt elite but he did a great job with the Raptors. this is just how the league works. its results driven. unfortunately for him the playoff results werent there.
Toronto was deer in headlight status after that 1st Cavs game. Casey cant get out there and play for them.
preseason, out of CLE, BOS, TOR, more experts picked CLE or BOS to finish 1st. Mostly everyone picked the Raptors to finish 3rd or 4th. Some picked MIL/WAS to finish above them.
Casey wont be without a job for a week.
