crazy... feel kinda bad for the dude in a weird way. people talking like he was just cruising around looking for trouble "what was he doing over there" etc.. I'm pretty sure his whole family lives right there, possibly even him. He stays shouting out those 90s cross streets south of kings highway a lot. so if thats the case for all intents and purposes he got shot in his own neighborhood on xmas day. and if someone wanted the car there are a dozen other ways to get it than fire pot shots at the driver... this was obviously targeted at him

Who said he was getting play outside of NY? He was, but since when do you need to get play outside the biggest city in the world to get shows? And he was doing shows all over the east coast making a lot of money.

Son he was an indie artist, getting radio spins with multiple songs (Your Style, All About the Money, Doo Doo), was on XXL Freshman of the year, got features from everyone from Diddy to Ross to T.I. to 50 Cent, deal with Adidas, was on Billboards in NYC. Like I said you don't have to like him or his music but to act like he wasn't making major moves an an indie artist is false and just hating. There wasn't many TRULY independent artists doing as well as him.

He was doing multiple shows/walk thrus a week getting 5-10 bands a pop. He was doing extremely well.

Never was a big fan but from what people in the game say, Troy Ave's work ethic is excellent. I don't doubt that he has way more money than people think he does.
I think his work ethic is a big reason he got a radio push here. A lot of artists are lazy as fukk or just young and dumb.

Even if you had access to that much liquid cash its much quicker and easier to put up an asset. could have been the difference between leaving a few hours after the bail hearing versus spending the rest of the week locked up while you have people on the outside piecing together half a million dollars and securing it with the court

His bail was half a mil and he bailed out instead of bonding out. When you paying a half a million dollar bail, you're more than likely gonna have to put up something (likely a house) for collateral. Even if a nikka got 500k to drop on bail, it may not be the smartest decision. Then they might want to question the money or something, and it's just easier to put up a big asset. It's actually common practice.

I don't know how much money Troy is getting, but him using his moms house for collateral on a half a million dollar bail does not mean he's broke/not getting money.
