The night Trump won I had to turn off the television and smoke a newport. I couldn't believe so many people in our society failed this most basic litmus test - AGAIN. I legitimately felt like a foreigner in a strange land. I thought to myself, maybe those of us who heeded all the warnings and signs got it wrong. Maybe we had 'Trump derangement syndrome' and we were out of touch with the 'vibes' of the average American. Now with less than 3 months into this adminstration I feel completely vindicated. Things are just as bad and extreme as I thought it would be at this point in his presidency (if not worse). And I guarantee things will get much much worse.
Millions of Americans were just dumb, careless and selfish. That's a reality that I had to struggle with up until now. The reality that millions of Americans are fundamentally rotten at their core and not good people. They voted for Trump because he represents what they are underneath the surface - racist, vile, obsence, selfish, deceitful, hateful, etc.
