A similar "small" explosion was reported in the Norris Geyser Basin on April 15, 2024 and another in Biscuit Basin on May 17, 2009, per USGS.
It’s a volcano, scratch that a geyser. Yea, they do this from time to time. My takeaway is social media has everyone either depressed or clout chasing with ‘main character’ syndrome thinking every event they personally experience is some once in a lifetime thing
