There will probably be some back and forth with the DA and they will agree on a lower number. Not much lower but probably around 10-12. Or he might just start telling

He has a million dollar lawyer and it's a state case. So his lawyer probably is telling him not to take it and is comfortable fighting it at trial.

I support it. fukk giving them 20 years take it to trial and see what happens. Even if he get convicted he can still get it overturned. I cant call someone dumb for fighting for their freedom

He has nothing to lose. If he takes the plea deal, he will be out by 50s , if goes to court and loses, he will be out in his 60s. It's a marginal difference from his perspective, so he might as well go out swinging while he still has the label money for his defence.
Even moreso if he can stay out for another half a decade on federal appeals before get sent in. (This stalling tactic is Something he forfeits in a plea)
And who knows? He might just beat a few of the charges and claim 10 years .

That wasn't his first offer. The plea the other day specified that it was his final plea offer...
This goes both ways because every case is unique. That's why guys can have the same exact charges but different outcomes, convictions are based on what the prosecution can prove...
In general it isnt difficult to beat a murder, the primary witness is dead. So many dudes get got on murders because murder is emotional, people tend to leave all kinds of evidence that they shouldn't...
You're right that dudes get pleas for higher time and roll the dice and come out with short time, I'm just pointing out that goes both ways. Dudes roll the dice and get hammered, because every case is different...

Did it change since 2016? I have a brother doing 20 in GA since '16, he parole-eligible after 60% which is 12 on the 20...
