Did Sheed really have a prime?
Brehs, could prime Rasheed Wallace or K.G. give Kevin Durant trouble?

The year the Mavs won the title, old man Jason Kidd defended KD in spots and did a great job.
That would have been Durant's 4th or 5th year.
Now, of course that was before KD played with other stars who know how to play team ball....back then..when he got the ball in clutch situations..it was isolation play..which is easier for the other player and team to defend. No ball movement..KD was gonna shoot the ball.
KG had the body, athleticism, and defensive instincts to guard prime KD in OKC...and make it hard for him to score.Not stop him..but make it difficult to score. Sheed was a great defensive player as well....and was a decent perimeter defender on switches.
Now on GSW, you can't defend him unless you're playing Michael Cooper -staying-on-you-like-a-shirt type defense.

No. I just seen KD cook AD with a simple hesitation and pull up three in his face. I’ve also seen KD cook Giannis.
KG would have more success, Sheed isn’t remotely quick enough to guard KD in isolation.
KD is unguardable.
The best thing to do is put smaller defenders who can get under him and be physical with a strong zone behind them. CP3, Kidd, Tony Allen had some success.

J Kidd is one of the best two way guards in history of the league, but I was amazed by how well he played spot defense those playoffs against 3 of the the all nba first team players..kobe, kd, and lebron

Pippen would have the physical tools to make it difficult for KD to score.....not stop him but give him problems.
I haven't watched the rockets series but I imagine that trevor ariza is guarding kd in spots...when TA played with kobe, they were calling him "pippenesque"...then when he stopped playing with kobe you never heard from him again
This is partly why I give Pippen props for his skillset, but he is a complementary player....and had he not played with MJ, he would hardly be remembered.
