:ohhh:the dumbest shyt i read on here in a while and im a JBO head, if you cant cut it out for over 3 years no one will hire a chancer and a man incapable of commiting to a project or goal.

reason a college degree is still aplicable in the business world is it shows you can commit and see out a project/goal/mission statement for at least 4 years. thats durability.

coli coli :russ:

You sound really dumb.

That doesn't apply to every job. Most Big 4 accounting firms have a high turnover rate because people put in 2 years and move on. You don't stay with a company for 4 years if there are no career advancement opportunities. Its called not wasting time. If you want to work just to work, you will just be working with no career path. I just stated someone at my job has been in the same low level, low skilled position forever. 2 supervisor positions came open in January and she didn't even apply (she didn't want to work the hours). She's in her 30's now. No college degree. Yeah, she's showed she can stay someone for a long time but in reality she has nothing to show for it.

Life ain't that simple, dawg. If it was then everybody would have the job of their dreams.

it is simple. it's called not wasting your 20's. The younger you are the more time you have to plan, adapt and adjust. Too many 20 year olds take time for granted. By the time they reach their early 30's they look young enough to still move like a 25 year old but time moves faster. Next thing, you know you're 40 and every move or decision you make become critical. Once 50 roles around, you're pretty much fukked. Retirement age is right around the corner.

Life is indeed short. You want to have flexibility, and the option to move when you want to. Once you hit a certain age, if you haven't prepared yourself, you're in trouble.

I never finished college but have been blessed to make a pretty good salary. How? Every job I worked at, I made sure that that I was in a position to get promoted. And the first job that I got promoted to supervisor, I made sure I never applied for anything less than a supervisor. Then I got promoted to General Manager... Every job after that has either been general manager or assistant manager. I'm going back to school in July so I can finish and get my accounting degree in 2 years. I have enough payroll and bookkeeping experience to where I can apply for upper or midlevel positions upon graduation. I take care of myself so even though I'm 40, I don't look it. I'm also a veteran. I know what hiring managers look for. I know how to not only hold a conversation, but control the conversation. I know how to read body language as well. All of these skills have been acquired over time that I can use to my advantage.

Life is hard and in a capitalistic society like the united states, you have to know how the navigate the game of life or you will be part of the bottom barely scraping by.

This doesn't include career fields which require educational and work minimums.

You have to be supervising someone or managing something.

And NEVER stay at a job more than 3 years if you haven't been promoted at least once. Otherwise, hiring managers will look at you :mjpls:

I've been literally trying to push some of my employees to leave for the past year. It's sad to see someone who is in their mid 30's making $11 an hour with no career path or aspirations while working at the same job for 8 years :mindblown:

what color are the employees you be trying to push out?

:mjpls:

Exactly. You have to know what to do already. Most people are not prepared to navigate through life as it is. Most people do not rise above their parents' income bracket that much. People do what they know.

This thread isn't meant for you. And if you don't like it don't respond.

I wasn't trying to come off as negative. I'm dropping jewels but all you want to see is the negative aspects. A lot of people take little things for granted. This is no secret.

:mjpls: And to be clear, I don't give a shyt how much a person makes.... But for the people that DO, and for the people who CAN'T at this particular moment... maybe, just maybe they wouldn't mind knowing HOW TO or WHY THEY HAVEN"T.

Man! People love to come on here acting as if they have all the answers and fool proof solutions to everyones problems. If you let these nikkas tell it, everyone swears theyve always had the perfect gameplan to a successful life. But then again, this is a forum where damn near everyone swears they could play for the NBA, hold their own in a pro boxing/mma match, make big bank at an IT desk job, are self made entrepreneurs, stock experts and move weight in the streets all at once :heh:. Just the overall standard of living on this forum is fukking insane. Next theres gonna be threads talking about "If you havent finished law school by age 30, youre pouring jelly on yaself":mjlol:

I'm actually speaking from experience. I wasted my 20's after I got out of the military. Went to school an didn't finish. Was homeless twice. In 2003 I was working as a dishwasher making $5.15 an hour in VA. I try to school my nieces, nephews and my own child on the importance of time and neglect. The saddest too words in life you ever want to utter is "what if".

Some of my employees are stuck. I try to push them to do something else. 2 years ago there was an employee of mine who was making small bread. he was in his 50's and basically waiting to retire. One night he went home after work and died of a heart attack. He used to talk about mistakes he made and how he wish he would've did things differently.

Take it for what it's worth. I'm not Obi Wan or Yoda. It is what it is :manny:

I can't remember the exact thread title but it was something like "if you haven't made it big by the time you're 30 you messed up" that was made a couple years ago. :pachaha:
