SOTD - Alghabra - Eye of Seven Hills
Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Whisky, Vanilla, Tobacco, Tonka Bean, Amber, Oud, Sandalwood, Cedar - what a line up!
This is gonna be fire.

I could never be a perfumer. I'd just be mixing things I like hoping to get something new but also familiar.
With this, every thing I like (except the sandalwood) plus some other stuff I ain't list - and....not really that good.

I'm wondering if this is their take on Kerosene's Followed
SOTDs - started with Federico Cantarelli - Intense Vanilla, and then layered on Byredo's Vanille Antique.
I would not have noticed this if I wore them separately - but the Antique Vanilla actually smells "dusty". Something tickles the nose like white pepper (it's not listed in the notes)
In terms of the blend - it seems like the 2 vanillas are fighting each other. It's like I can smell both distinctly, but not actually.
It's interesting from a "raw" sensory perspective - in that it doesn't engage the mind in ways I can really describe.
Sauvage is like that - the smell is "explainable" but there's something else going with it. Much like eating Mapo Tofu. It's hot, but the pepper numbs the scenes creating a sensation more so than a flavor.

i layered today too ..tales of amber / galloway. orange blossom musk bomb with some fresh ground pepper on top. can't stop sniffing my arm

Pineward - as the name suggests - is mostly tree based scents. This is no exception.
I'm not sure what dominates this joint here. Half of these notes, I've never heard of, nor could pick out of a lineup if my life depended on it. I want to say the "mousse de saxe" is what dominates - i.e. it smells kinda like moss with a bit of woods, and a hint of sweetness.
It's a nice scent, a pleasant scent, but my rating is 2 mls at best.
I wonder a lot about how they come up with this stuff, but also - who's buying this stuff? This something I imagine a barkeep from some Portland suburb would rock.
I bought a gang of samples, and honestly none of them are GREAT enough to buy a whole bottle, but 2mls is a good amount of juice imo.

Dat leafy/stank tobacco but also that brown tobacco as well (a smidge Red). Not sweet at all, arguably a bit salty as well.
Have 5ml, but you probably only need 1ml to test it out. Definitely not a blind buy.

SOTD - Ormond Jayne - Montabaco Parfum - lemme get to the rating first - on a scale of 1-10 - where 1 is a I don't like this and 10 is a recommend for all of you to go blind buy it on e-bay from sketchy Russian Sellers - this is a negative 2 (-2).

Jimmy Choo, John Varvatos, Michael Kors, arguably Polo, Hilfiger, LaCoste, Coach, Kenneth Cole, Perry Ellis, Calvin Klein, Adidas, etc - are all on the lower tier of designer brands in cologne and fashion generally.
Not quite "English Laundry" level, but not Burberry/Valentino level, much less Dior/Chanel level.
