Not bout me but my uncle went from homeless to 15Ms within 7 years (medical sales and clinics).

Up until last year, he didn’t splurge. Realized he’s getting old and decided to spoil himself with 2 3M homes in Miami and a G Wagon.

Dark times will always humble you. He never forgot how it was and what could’ve still been.
Eats at the same hold spots he used to be at.

He doesn’t have any kids so I’m hoping this means we eat when he passes, which won’t be for a long ass time anyways.

can you transfer? I know someone who was making 100k in NYC which cost of living is much higher. simplistic job. so simplistic I was surprised when he transferred to NC and kep the same pay. that was a nice come up.
I know a bunch of people that transfer out to texas, for the same reason. Its a come up

Your lifestyle changes a bit. You spend more and you realize that money can go away if you make career missteps or unforeseen circumstances happen.

You also realize you need to invest because you learn the value of money even more at that pay bracket.

As far family I help them out because I know they would do the same for me. In fact many have so I have to make sure they are alright.

So. Cal
This. Posted this in another thread there was a cac on reddit making like 100k or 200k sum saying he lives paycheck to paycheck and is struggling.

Nikka was spending like 2000 a month eating out, House was expensive, car payments etc.
That's because of college loans and credit probably

You sound jealous though

Nah, not even close. We all make around the same amount in my unit depending the quarterly bonuses.:yeshrug:

Besides I'm more of a classic car and JDM dude. You're more likely to see me spending my money on something like a Grand National/GNX, Supra or an imported R32 GTR.(R34 GTR ain't legal to import to the US yet)

I make way more than that, well into the six figure range.
No impetus to brag about it through assets, clothes or cars....or help anyone else.
They don't talk to me anyway...so they don't need to benefit from my hard work and success.

You can do that if you're spending money on a bunch of toys. If I went shooting every weekend I could go broke and I make a good income.

We will have to agree to disagree my man. I don't see no reason for you and others who do what you do in the post I quoted except for being jealous and or haters. That also doesn't have nothing to do with the money y'all take home in this case but how it's getting used. Personally just don't think it's no need for the comparison between you and your co workers but we are all different.

bruh

every single detached house in a good neighborhood in SF is 1.0 - 1.2M +

just to reasonably downpay on that, u need 25% of that which is like 250 racks Minimum, plus fees. that means u gonna needa borrow like 800-1M from a bank. Not only do u need A1 credit, but your income levels needa be a certain amount.

making 300k, ur gonna get taxed out over 1/3 of your income off the top. now include out rent of like 4-5k a month (60k a year) and other expenses, my homeboy doesn't have the 250-300 racks.

off his salary of approx 300k, his take home after taxes is around 200k, and after expenses, hes probably bringing in and saving less than 100k a year.

even making 300k a year, u gotta save up for a few years before you got the bread.

SF is a diff animal, im jus sayin

Bro why are u explaining to me how taxes and mortgages work? :dahell:

Saying people in the bay cant live in a decent neighborhood with a 300k salary is a lot different than saying people cant afford to live in the country's most expensive city with a 300k salary. Big difference. Can't say I empathize with your (probably transplant, probably cac) friend.

Be well.
