Westbook is who he is because of his athleticism. He is fast and has hops but literally every other part of his game is mediocre. shyt shot selection, turnover prone, average vision, no range , mid range jumper when on is on but that mostly is in transition. I never seen somebody get into the lane as easily and as much as him but miss soooooooo many layups or get an offensive foul on an erratic drive.

I mean he took 31 shots tonight breh and he only made 10 of them.KD only took 18 compared to his 31. That's just unacceptable if you're trying to win
And it's not just the volume of shots he takes it's the quality of shots also. He'll take contested 3s even though he only shot 30% from three this season and is a much better midrange shooter. Teams don't even really have to guard him behind the 3 point line if they choose not to
He gambles way too much on defense because he places so much stock in his athleticism and he thinks he's faster than the pass or he thinks he's going to be able to get back to his man in time
He's just a scatterbrained and less than focused player. He makes questionable passes in crunch time and sometimes misses wide open guys in crunch time
I don't think you can win a title with Russ as your best player. He has to be a sidekick

That's seriously 90% of the picture for the stupidest half of basketball fans. But it doesn't give you the best picture of whether a player is actually helping his team win games or not.
Westbrook is a freak of a basketball player. Just incredible to watch. But I can't call him a top-5 player. He hurts his team way too often with bad defense and bad shots and bad decision making.
