:damn: somebody answer. What's a good shampoo for a black man

Don't you realize that you can use the same shampoo as any black woman in your circle? You, a black man, have the same thing growing out of your head as your counterpart, the black woman. Any shampoo made for kinky/coily/curly texture will work (if you have normal hair and scalp). What did your mother use on your head as a child?

Bump

I got the Motion shampoo and have been using it for a couple weeks, about 3-4 days a week. Definitely noticed an improvement in my hair already. Flakes are pretty much gone and more importantly my hair doesn't look dry as fukk anymore. Got a haircut a month ago and I'm still looking sharp, whereas previously I noticed after 3 weeks my hair would already be looking struggle status.

:blessed:

btw my barber told me our hair can get used to a shampoo, and it'll lose it's effectiveness. So you gotta only shampoo a few times a week, and eventually switch to something else after a few months. Dunno how true that is...but I do trust my barber

I noticed my hair has been really dry lately, and flaky. No smell and my barber said it's not dandruff. What type of shampoo should I use, as a brotha? I've been using some olive oil shyt but my barber said we need to use something with acid in it.

What do you guys use?
Something free of sulfates

I know it sounds Erykah Badu-ish, but, shampoo is harmful because it strips your scalp of natural & essential oils

Man I'm really glad I did this. When I was younger my hair always looked great and it took weeks before I needed a haircut (once I learned how to straighten/trim my line) at the barber's. The dryness made me look...bad. I should have taken pics, but I noticed my waves would stick up weirdly once my hair got long, making my hair look uneven. Just three weeks from my last cut it would look bad.

I use Trader Joe's nourish Spa to clean, Tresemme's split end remedy, and just about everything for shampoo. My hair gets clean easily, I just stick to curl/volumizing/cleansing types.
