The last few concerts I went to, everyone in the crowd was just standing there holding their phones up recording. It made me wonder will music acts start to adapt what Chappelle does in order to force people back into participating and experiencing the show outside of their device.
I want to see the devin the dude last week and it wasn't like that. People would vibing and dancing to the music. I think whats going to backfire in the industry are the smartphone/stream fan. They only like a couple of singles but never cared to or heard the actual artists.

Boiler room is painful to watch especially when a they a do a fire danecehall set and no one is getting there daggering on
boiler room could've been something special and was heading that way until money got in the way. they chose the wrong way to monetise themselves and instead of becoming the future of clubbing like it was supposed to be it chose the easy route and became a cultural whore like the rest of them. why would you take a product that's based around showing the quality acts in all music genres and then choose to monetise it via selling franchises and corporate sponsorship, thus guaranteeing there being no way to maintain a consistent standard of quality in product being put out under the boiler room name? smh :snoop:

and the reason why the boiler room crowd is WOAT is because its never true fans of the music that get in. you have to know someone and/or be lucky enough to get a free ticket when they advertise it. that breeds a crowd of posers, attention whores and people who have 0% passion for the music being played frequenting the events. Plus the majority of its fanbase are techno/house fans so any other type of music gets the :mjpls: treatment in the yt comments. for a company that is based around music exploration and having a completely diverse musical taste it has an incredibly ignorant and close minded viewership. I hate boiler room. It's a modern day nightclubbing equivalent of babylon. fucc them hoes.

Hipster events been dead, while people enjoy themselves, they just stand there dead. It's weird cause I'm not that person but If you go to such an event and 50% is dead, the other 50% will conform. Besides that most of those people probably don't know the artist and that song, as in my case. You rarely turn up to shyt you find weak and unknown.

because sxsw isn't about music anymore, it's now an opportunity for upity liberal Cacs and suburban only dated white girl brehs to go and take pics of themselves at sxsw and post it on social media. :manny:
Let's not act like it has anything to do with race, some of the most dead clubs in NY are "black" clubs where everyone feels themselves too much to show that they are having a good time. It all depends on the crowd, you can also find "black" clubs in which shyt it turnt up. Same thing with "white" clubs or "all" clubs.

Now the kids though, they turn up. But the kids are not flocking to sxsw, they'll be at Coachella.

You said it was painful to watch followed by especially "a fire dancehall set and no one is getting their..".
I wouldn't have quoted you if you said that dancehall sets on Boiler Room are painful. Now you didn't even say that dancehall sets are weak, you said that especially fire dancehall sets with dead crowds.

Don't blame the reader, blame the writer.

The country of myself
When the real fans couldn't get into the concerts that's when shyt started going down hill.

I remember the days you could walk up to a venue without a badge or wristband and pay anywhere from $15-$40 to get into a concert depending on how popular the artists were.

One year I paid $20 to get into a concert got to see jean grae, talib kweli, strong arm steady, 88 keys, and a bunch of other acts.

Next day I paid $25 got to see daz & kurupt, DJ quik, bone thugs n harmony, murs, and some other west coast acts.

They don't do that anymore everything is badge and wristband only which killed the real fandom.

Its been dead for a good 7-8 years now. People would rather hold their phones filming than actually enjoy the experience and have a good time. Too much social media. Corporations also came in and jacked the price of everything a good 5 years ago ruining it and just looking to make money. Its dead now.

Because everyone that actually cares about having the best experience and live lineup goes to Coachella. SXSW fell off years ago.

This. I have to :francis: when artists perform non-singles or Singles that weren't hits because I know the crowd won't know the song.
