it's all a game just be smart with your money, I'm currently at a 794. I have

- no student loans
- No car loans (haven't had one one in 5 years and even the was on used card)

I have only owned 1 credit card my life, an Amazon card.

If you starting from scratch, go get 2 secured credit cards from a major bank or credit union.
Put usage on it and pay it down by the end of your statement date.
After 6-8 months those cards should graduate and u will get your deposit back
If you're with Navy Fed, do the Pledge Loan Hack to add credit mix to your profile
Do not be late ever.
Keep your utilization down as much as you can..ideally single digit. worst case under 30%
Wait...and you will see your score in the 700s.

Stay away from predatory cards like First Premier. Their APR and Fee's will rape u.

Good luck

Credit utilization is important to keep low but the biggest thing by far is paying your bills on time. No missed payments. And having a history of credit going back a decent amount of time. I’ve had credit since my early 20s and even with a higher than normal utilization rn I’m still gucci

One missed payment that’s reported will fukk you up for a minute

786 and basically what everyone else has already said;

Pay the balance monthly by the due date, keep usage below 15%.

Ten percent is the recommendation tho.

Time n consistency does the rest.

Also, if you can't buy it twice outright you can't afford it at all is the best general spending advice I think I ever got.

Makes you really think about what you're purchasing and how it's being covered.

Only cards I can get rn are from credit one. And according to Reddit they’re very predatory smh. The only 2 cards I have rn are secured capital one cards.

Instead of this.. ask a parent/friend/spouse to put you on their card as an authorized user..you will get your credit up quicker.. I never had a secured card in my life.

I’m at 830 acording to Amex and what helped my score the most was simply having access to credit. I have credit cards with huge limits and I keep them active by just having my subscriptions charged to them, my utilization is 1%. There is really no magic to it, you have to pay shyt on time, keep utilization low, and wait for things to fall off of your report.

Now the real question is, how do I turn my excellent credit into money? I honestly don’t see the benefit in having such a high score. I’m not buying cars and houses, so what’s the point? At this point it’s for sport to see if I can get an 850.
