And then I ended up proving you wrong. No problems here, guy.
You did absolutely no such thing. I gave you an article and you cherry picked the one part that fit your agenda, completely disregarding the other shyt. But once again you're trying to make yourself feel superior for some reason. I don't know why that is. Why do you need to do that?

Edit: What about all this other shyt:

What Causes Anxiety?

Anxiety disorders may be caused by environmental factors, medical factors, genetics, brain chemistry, substance abuse, or a combination of these. It is most commonly triggered by the stress in our lives. Usually anxiety is a response to outside forces, but it is possible that we make ourselves anxious with "negative self-talk" - a habit of always telling ourselves the worst will happen.

Environmental and external factors
Environmental factors that are known to cause several types of anxiety include:

  • Trauma from events such as abuse, victimization, or the death of a loved one
  • Stress in a personal relationship, marriage, friendship, and divorce
  • Stress at work
  • Stress from school
  • Stress about finances and money
  • Stress from a natural disaster
  • Lack of oxygen in high altitude areas
Medical factors
Anxiety is associated with medical factors such as anemia, asthma, infections, and several heart conditions. Some medically-related causes of anxiety include:

  • Stress from a serious medical illness
  • Side effects of medication
  • Symptoms of a medical illness
  • Lack of oxygen from emphysema, or pulmonary embolism (a blood clot in the lung)
Substance use and abuse
It is estimated that about half of patients who utilize mental health services for anxiety disorders such as GAD, panic disorder, or social phobia are doing so because of alcohol or benzodiazepine dependence. More generally, anxiety is also know to result from:

  • Intoxication from an illicit drug, such as cocaine or amphetamines
  • Withdrawal from an illicit drug, such as heroin, or from prescription drugs like Vicodin, benzodiazepines, or barbiturates
Genetics
It has been suggested by some researchers that a family history of anxiety increases the likelihood that a person will develop it. That is, some people may have a genetic predisposition that gives them a greater chance of suffering from anxiety disorders.

Brain chemistry
cantsleep.jpg

Research has shown that people with abnormal levels of certain neurotransmitters in the brain are more likely to suffer from generalized anxiety disorder. When neurotransmitters are not working properly, the brain's internal communication network breaks down, and the brain may react in an inappropriate way in some situations. This can lead to anxiety.

I have bi-polar disorder. If i don't take my shyt I go manic or get terribly depressed for no reason.

i dont know what to say man. im not in your shoes. i just dont think its healthy to rely on ssri for the rest of your life to be "normal". i dont think you should give up like that tho.

I have to rely on medications for the rest of my life. I'll either go manic and make stupid decisions (which I have done) or I'll get in such a depressed stage that I'll want to kill myself. I'd rather be drugged up than go to either of those extremes. It's problematic, but it's what I gotta do. I've come to accept it.

I think some folks here are lumping having some anxious moments or lack of impulse control with a full blown anxiety disorder, and they are very different. I've seen adults have what look like a heart attack, with arm numbness and shaking, and it was really an anxiety attack. You know that feeling you get when you reclined on a chair too far, and you have that clenching feeling right before you fall? That's what daily anxiety can feel like.

I don't like with longterm SSRIs either, I really think the gut health and brain link needs to be tested more. But I don't know an alternate to that. When my bipolar/depressed cousin doesn't take his meds, he becomes violent as fukk, he was this way since he was a small kid, I don't think you can meditate that out of yourself.

I'd rather not talk about them. But they were serious and not thought out properly.

I believe the mind and body can overcome 90% of the things put before it. I suffer from anxiety and probably some other shyt I'm not willing to come to terms with.

Typically getting out of my head and bringing myself into the moment helps...however I've had some serious personal things go on recently and smoked some loud...all the heavy weed smokers should know what that is...shyt literally drove me crazy for about 3 weeks.

There was a legit 3 days I couldn't goto sleep because it amplified my anxiety and paranoia. Some people need medicine I realize, there's some things that as a person we can't cope with without a little help.

I've never had that shyt happen to me before. Never through all the bullshyt and drama in my life. Shyt was legit scary because not only could I not goto sleep...I wasn't tired.

Not getting enough sunlight can cause depression and anxiety from low levels of vitamin D. A zinc supplement could help if its hormone related

and again, guy, swing and a miss..... Those are STILL created by people... the most substantial evidence you could possibly argue is: "Research has shown that people with abnormal levels of certain neurotransmitters in the brain are more likely to suffer from generalized anxiety disorder. When neurotransmitters are not working properly, the brain's internal communication network breaks down, and the brain may react in an inappropriate way in some situations. This can lead to anxiety"

And again, WHY are these neurotransmitters not working properly? I guarantee they are not working proactively to stimulate their neurotransmitters and understand the science of how their brain works.

Do they regularly have enough Omega-3 fatty acids, a crucial component for building dopamine? Are they getting enough L-Tyrosine in their diets to sustain healthy and regular flow between their left and right side of their brains? Are they sufficient in B-12 levels?

Probably not. There is a reason Americans have the highest reported levels of anxiety in the world (more so than people in society's where they duck bullets on their way to school and work) and it is because we have a soul depleting culture and because the stuff that we put in our bodies, ie. processed sugars, red meat, preservatives are a main cause..

Explain to me why raw vegans have no symptoms of anxiety or depression? Explain why this nation in particular is the highest distributor of SSRI's? Why don't other nations with more restrictions and less security and freedom report being happier than one of the top 5 most statistically miserable nations on Earth?

and to answer this question "But once again you're trying to make yourself feel superior for some reason. I don't know why that is. Why do you need to do that?":

Because you're weak. You're a weak-minded, spoiled, privileged, and entitled American that can't see anything outside of the narrow scope that society has crafted for them. You're an excuse maker. A Hypochondriac. Close-minded. Everything I can't co-sign.

I'm gonna have to stop talking to you. You don't back up any claims and think you can just will things away. You're not to be taken seriously. Note taken.:tu:

I have a theory that a lot of the potheads in my life use it to treat their general anxiety (over scripts like Lexapro). They have to light up before they even brush their teeth to start the day though. It can become a dependence and an avoidance tactic though. It helps them for the moment, but if you don't address the root causes of your anxiety with therapy, and you don't do habit reversal, you're just going to battle it all your life with whatever substance (weed, food, internet) of your choice. Buy you a cognitive behavioral therapy workbook on amazon and do those exercises if you can't afford therapy.
Exactly to alleviate anxiety address the root cause. Medication is only a temp solution

Nah man, the struggle isn't real at all.

Type in "Drone Strikes" or "Syria" in google, then click the 'news' tab....that struggle is 'real'

The bullshyt "anxiety" we face in the United States, the 'greatest nation on earth', that issues out over 34 million anti-depressant/anti-anxiety prescriptions per year, is because of ego and insecurity. Once you stop comparing yourself to other people, and especially the arbitrary yard stick that the coli sets as it's standards (when over 80 percent of the kids here are losers), you will find peace, and peace within yourself.. it's like the greatest weight lifted off of your shoulders..

This gift that I have been blessed with is called "gratitude"....it's impossible for me to ever feel sorry for myself, anxious, depressed, etc. AKA American created feelings, because I am appreciative and thankful to be able to even type this message to you....because that implies that I am still alive and have my life.....something thousands lose per day.

Enough, man. You have oxygen. It's fine.

Bittersweet melancholy of the first world
