You can have all your kids go off to college, be millionaires, have all the fruits of the world and you still failed them.

OP I agree with you. I'm 28 and am so focused on my own life that I don't see how these KIDS are out here having KIDS. I would say 90% of people have them when they're not ready and that's just not who I am.

The fact you was on a high horse and that taking care of children is a test of real manhood, tells me where your mentality is.
A real test of manhood is what buddha did, he could of lived like royalty but chose to live like a bum and be enlightened, that's a real test of manhood, not taking care of children when that's something you suppose to do.
Taking care of another human being is to be human in and of itself.
You have brehs in here saying they can’t fathom changing a diaper or making bottles for a human being that is helpless is all I need to know about a male who is incapable of being a REAL MAN.
If you see that as being on a high horse then you have entirely missed the premise of my argument.
And yea, I am on a high horse when greater than 50% of black homes have a fatherless parent. So it’s obvious a lot of fu** boys can’t handle being a real man.

Taking care of people is what you suppose to do. Having kids and raising them is what you suppose to do. It only shows how far we have fallen that people can feel good for raising their children or giving to someone in need, that's what you suppose to do.
Because 50% percent of black children lack father in their life, doesn't make you better than the next other then you didn't run from your responsibility, you don't deserve an award for that. That's why I brought up Buddha, he has the ultimate test of character, live like royalty or give it all up and live like a bum to preach the truth of the world, now that's a test of a man, not taking care of children you made when you laid down and had sex.
I stay around a bunch of (IT) Indians....they don't seem to have an issue with kids as their wives know their role

I was giving you a REAL example of what manhood is not some taking care of kids you brought into the world, reason for bringing up Buddha, cause you was riding that high horse, had to bring you back down to reality.
You didn't say it but I know how to read between the lines. Its all good but last I checked Jesus didn't have kids, so is he not a real man? So yes you think you deserve an award, but just teach your kids real knowledge.
It's not just $$$ for some. There's other prep that can be done and really should be.
I was doing ok in my early 20's financially but I was a selfish arrogant son of a gun. ..
there was a maturing/gaining life experience I REALLY needed to go thru and I know I would've been a horrible father had I had a child then because I had to unpack a LOT of bullshyt which I did.
Thankfully I was lucky enough to recognize that about myself, some don't and they end up repeating mistakes that were made on them by their parents.

I think people shouldn't judge OP for being immature in not wanting kids. Like many people here have stated: you need to be at a certain maturity and spiritual level to properly bring and raise a kid in this world. My parents were in their late 30s and 40s when they had me and I'm really glad they waited. It wasn't until they hit a certain maturity level that they wanted a family. It really made my childhood a breeze since being an ethnic minority in this country is a whole another journey with a shytload of obstacles. Both of them did the best they could to make sure I could navigate this system that is stacked up against us (especially black people).
