If they dont want to get hit in the head go play another sport. No reason in destroying football cause of being hurt in a sport you CHOSE to play. Man the fukk up you stupid if you played a physical, collision sport and not expected to have or end up with some type of issue long term
How does that attitude destroy the sport? The players know this going inThis type of attitude will destroy the sport. I'm thankful the league took preemptive action this season to protect player's heads and futures after football.
I feel you on this, and respect it but youre failing to see how the NFL made a concentrated effort to cover up exactly how devastating these head injuries are and the lasting/long term effects they bring.

About the fast living...In al seriousness tho, have you seeen Favre lately? When they showed him last week he looks WAY older than the average 44 year old man. Fast living and hitting your head on the ground probably doesnt help the aging process much.
About the fast living...
Tim Brown made a statement last week that all these old heads blaming their health on head injuries and football were actually all alcoholics, coke and pill heads...He claims these head injuries are a result of "non Christian" living and not physical contact... Im suprised it wasnt a bigger story...
he said that?
not as long as boxing and MMA are around
Never. Going. To. Happen.
LOL, I keep hearing this and I think you guys are forgetting some things - The NFL is a 9 BILLION dollar a year business. This is America, where the only thing that matters is that $$$$$.
And lets not forget...while there are a lot of players having troubles after their career, several race car driver have actually DIED on the track, including another American Hero, Dale Earnhardt. That sport aint going nowhere either. And in boxing, the goal is to actually HURT the other guy by beating the sh!t out of him.
Don't worry, football is safe.
Not even close
Exactly. Your chances of dying/being a vegetable instantly are higher there and i've never heard of any thoughts of fighting being banned
Even if the NFL would cease to exist there is going to another way for people to see/play pro football, and probably a MORE violent version

Yeah on a Dan Lebatard interview...given the amount of consecutive games he played, I am not shocked. Not to mention during that time the NFL wasn't so cautious when it came to concussion. So I'm sure he play in some games he should not have been in.
he said that?

Ok...but we're talking about the players that decided to strap up. There was a tacit understanding of what comes with the sport in their parts from Day 1. They're being dishonest. Seeing Jerome Bettis a few years back BEFORE everything was exposed, crying over Earl Campells health problems showed that many of these players long knew what comes with the game. There's been too many examples of this for me to believe players are SUDDENLY likePersistent brain injuries, lawsuits and brain damage stories will damper interest in the sport as people deem it too dangerous to compete.
"this could happen to me!!!"bretts a legend and a man and a pimp and a king of dikk pickin but its probably more the fact he was blackout binge drinking every day he didnt play and popping 15 heavy duty vicodin each day for years
