FT offers its perspective;
The financial times literally had an outright lie about Labour economic policy as a front page headline LAST WEEK. 
Treating the creation of new shares which workers own as a direct cost to companies.
If they changed "cost to companies" to "a smaller percentage ownership of companies by existing share holders equivalent to 300 billion pounds" it'd still be wrong, because they made the error of if you have 1 out of 3 apples and increase the supply of apples by 33%, you have 25% of the apples, a loss of 8%, not a loss of 33%
Which makes me think they're just bad at math, or lying, or probably both.
