Wolves win at home vs. the Rockets 79-92. 6 game losing streak over. First win under Terry Porter. Demolished by injuries, this team had 9 guys available and beat a team they're still theoretically challenging for a playoff berth. Gutsiest win of the season.
17-20.
The good:
Chris Johnson: 18 points, 6 boards, 18 minutes, 4-4 FG, first game since he got signed today. Tonight was his night. I don't know where he came from, but he got the job done. I'm sure it felt great for him to hear MVP chants. He's been here less than 24 hours and he's already played better than Lou has all year. It's all about opportunity and I hope he takes advantage of his.
Mickael Gelabale: 11 points in 21 minutes, all but 1 point in the 4th quarter. He and CJ did all the work in the 4th. More than that, he frustrated Harden and took him out of his game. We've been looking for a player like this all year to just make a shot here and there and play some D. He's here supposedly for a couple of 10 day deals. Keep him for the season. Nothing to lose.
AK: 21 and 11 with 3 steals. Our MVP.
Lastly, the team forced 20 turnovers and shot 47% FG with 29-36 FT's. They played our style all game long. The mission I guess is to play Big 10 Basketball and see what happens.
the bad:
Lou Amundson: -15 in 16 minutes. Bushes
3-14 from 3.
Lastly, I lost 2000 Coli Cash betting against the Wolves. Never again.
Just hoping these guys can get healthy. This is becoming a tough season, but they're 2 games in back of Denver in the loss column for 6th seed if that's believable. That means the Wolves have a lot of basketball left to play where they control their fate. They may fall short, but at least for tonight, it was good to see them play the way I thought they could play. shyt is all bad with Roy and Rick Adelman's wife and Pek and Shved and Love and everyone else Shaqtin a fool, but tonight was good. This team's got some fight left in them, that's for sure.
17-20. Let's take it one game at a time and see what happens.
