He's a starter on a playoff team. Your evaluation of a third stringer is off. Adelman wouldve played him. DMo is his type of player.

What does he do that Kevin Love can't do? He seems like a better passer but other than that. :aicmon:

He's 7'0. BUt yall dont even plan to keep Kevin Love. He wants to tbe the fanchise player and the organization rejects his aspiration. Just saying, having DMo wouldnt be bad right now, for the TWolves.

Sign and trade with houston for DMo and Terrence Jones seems to be the only viable option for yall...

Kevin Love /Derrick Williams /D-Mo.

Derrick barely sees the floor when Love is healthy, but D-Mo was gonna play? :beli:

And no, you can't play D-Mo and Love together.
He's 7'0.

And soft.

BUt yall dont even plan to keep Kevin Love. He wants to tbe the fanchise player and the organization rejects his aspiration. Just saying, having DMo wouldnt be bad right now, for the TWolves.

So having D-Mo instead of Love makes the team better even if he'd be playing behind Williams?

The plan IMO for Kevin is to do as much as they can in the next 2 years, hopefully make the playoffs, and then let him walk after that. It's the best plan humanly possible because you can't trade Love and improve your squad in the short term at the same time. This is the last rebuilding job anyone will put up with. Dealing Love for more picks and pieces just means you're most likely taking a step back, which means, no playoffs. They've gone 9 years without it. Without Love, you've pretty much decided you're gonna burn Rubio's rookie contract on missing the playoffs, which means the vultures will circle around him. They have to break the cycle. It's too late for Kev. It's definitely not too late for Rubio.

Anyway, good W tonight. Caged Lion with a career high 28 and 7.

Since the all-star break, not including tonight, he's averaging 17.1 ppg and 7.7 rebounds. The numbers are higher than this when he averages 30+ min.

When we trade him-- and it HAS to be a when-- the team better not sell him short. Get good value for him, whatever that may be.

Chase may be back by next weekend. Love's probably done altogether.

First W against Boston since the KG trade.

At least they're still fighting. Hopefully this carries over a bit to next year. So used to the team going on 10-15 game losing streaks to end the year.

When the 2012-13 season opened, Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor thought his team would be good enough to contend for a spot in the Western Conference playoffs.

That was before prolonged injuries to Kevin Love, Brandon Roy and Chase Budinger changed expectations. Instead, the Wolves will finish their season Wednesday, April 17, without advancing to the postseason for the ninth straight year.

Taylor, who has owned the Wolves since 1994, now heads into yet another challenging offseason thinking about what might have been and what lies ahead for his team.

During a recent interview with the Pioneer Press, Taylor identified the uncertain status of coach Rick Adelman as his No. 1 offseason concern, followed by his determination to re-sign center Nikola Pekovic, who becomes a restricted free agent July 1.

Taylor spoke on a variety of topics as the Wolves' season draws to a close, including his attempts to sell the franchise and the status of general manager David Kahn, whose contract expires this summer.

PP: How will you handle Adelman's situation? He has indicated he might retire if his wife continues to be affected by seizures.

GT: When the season is over, Rick will have more time to think about Mary Kay's health. He hasn't said anything to me about his future, and I haven't asked him or pushed him on that. Mary Kay will be his priority, and I understand that. We'll talk about it at the appropriate time. It's on him rather than me, but I told
him I will give him all the support he needs.

We're hopeful that Mary Kay continues to make progress. We're planning as if he will be back next year.

PP: If Adelman decides to step down, do you have a contingency plan in place?

GT: Not yet.

PP: Terry Porter filled in for Adelman for 11 games when Adelman was away from the team. Is Porter your choice to take over if Adelman leaves?

GT: Not sure about that. If Rick were to leave, I would want to think about all options we have available to us. My thought process right now would be to not look at just one person.

PP: David Kahn's contract expires this summer. Have you thought much about whether you want to retain him as the team's president of basketball operations?

GT: I haven't come to the time to make a decision on that. Let's finish the season first. I want to find out about my coach first. I don't have a time frame to address David's situation. He and I have been talking about the draft and other things as we go into the offseason. At some point, I know I need to make a decision.

PP: What's the latest on your attempts to sell the team?

GT: I haven't come up with anybody who meets all the needs. One of my problems is that I haven't found anybody who lives in Minnesota or has a Minnesota background. The interest has come from people outside the state. I'm interested in a local person buying the team on a limited-partner basis.

Right now, I don't have a strong feeling that I want to get rid of the team. I still enjoy it. I was thinking of a long run to try to find a successor, but I might keep things the way they are.

PP: Flip Saunders was helping you find an ownership group. Have you had talks with him about rejoining the Wolves?

GT: First of all, Flip was just trying to help a friend who had an outside group, but that group never submitted a bid. I have a coach and I have a GM. Me and Flip have not talked about those things. What we talk about mostly is his work at ESPN and what's going on in the league. I have maintained a friendship with Flip. We kept in touch when he was at Washington and Detroit.

PP: Are you expecting a tough negotiation with Pekovic, who could command as much as $14 million a year in free agency?

GT: I want him to stay, and he has told me he wants to stay. It's to our advantage to try and work something out with him. We know and he knows he's able to test the market. When he tells me he wants to stay, I take him for his word, but agents play a big role in all of this.

PP: Will you personally get involved in Pekovic's negotiations if necessary?

GT: It's not the way we would start out, but if it means getting a quicker and fairer deal done, I would. This is a very important deal for us.

PP: Are you concerned with skeptics who feel Brandon Roy should not have been signed? He has not played since Nov. 9.

GT: It's fair criticism ... for me and David. We did take a risk, and it was proven to be a wrong risk. There were other players out there with some experience who we could have gotten, who would have helped us at a position (shooting guard) where we needed help. We're out of the money this year (approximately $5 million), but based on the contract we have, we don't have to pay him next year if he doesn't play.

PP: Did you ever get the sense that Roy would return to the lineup?

GT: He sure sounded like a guy who thought he could do it. You trust his word. When I talked to him in December, he was under the assumption he would be back in a couple of weeks (after Nov. 19 surgery on his right knee), and he was telling other people the same things. I talked to him a month ago and I could tell he had given up, that he wasn't going to try a comeback. He seemed very mature. I thought he would bring a lot of leadership to our team, but it was tough for him to do that when he wasn't playing. We hardly got to see him.

PP: How much did the team's season-long injury problems affect you?

GT: It was very difficult to not see your team healthy. We don't have a true measure of what this team could have been. It was my hope and the coaches' hopes that (forward Kevin Love's) hand injury would have repaired sooner. We barely got the chance to see Kevin and (point guard Rubio) Ricky on the floor together (only four games this season).

PP: Do you want the team's medical and training staff to monitor Love's offseason workout program?

GT: I'm not worried about Kevin. He has told me, 'I'm going to be in as good a shape and fit as I've ever been.' He has talked to our people about what he's going to do in the offseason. It sounds aggressive and stimulating. He's taking the leadership on that.

Somebody get this man some natural causes please :snoop:
