True, I don't think any of them really do grime like that anymore. I hear them just say they were grime artists or how they started grime.

Record labels killed grime cos they never pushed it & when they did a bit, they only signed one person at a time & later turned them into pop artists.

Dizzee Rascal is the only one that went mainstream with grime & sold a platinum album. And after that he went pop. All the tunes Wiley made money off were pop tunes. Ditto Kano, Tinchy Stryder, Tinie Tempah & even Stormzy.

I thought Stormzy would revive it when he did “Shut up” but he went pop as well.

Can’t blame the artists - cash rules everything & people will always do whatever brings the most money tbh

This skepta :gucci: ?? Nah he weren't proudly repping nothing nigerian

(There was Nigerian flag on the TV screen at the beginning of the video & he spoke Yoruba at the end of the 2nd verse)

And

(The black Nigerian always ready is part of the chorus).

I’m a big Big Skeppy fan from day & I can list countless tunes from back in the day, lol. Even in all the big Roll Deep mainstream pop tunes, he makes he screams “Joseph Jr Adenuga”.

My bad breh if I upset you. I get what you saying now

It’s calm - I didn’t take it to heart. No hard feelings.

Things have changed now (at least in London). Nigerians own most of the popping black spaces & events. And Afrobeats is the most popular genre of music in London now. So it’s supercool to be African in London now.

Man that sounds awesome. I visited London once, I got family over there. So there's alot of Africans that own small businesses and storefronts there?

Too many SMEs but mostly Nigerian owned. Ghanaians are also up & some Somalis in areas they have sizeable population.

But Nigerians are a different gravy & Nigerian businesses are everywhere in all parts of London even in Knightsbridge & very affluent areas.
