That’s proving my point. Griner has value compared to someone like Whelan, so of course Russia was going to want someone of value in return, which goes against the narrative of him being useless.

Before someone tries insisting otherwise, the US gave Russia every indication that Griner was of value including leaking the Griner/Bout deal (they weren't supposed to) before Russia was even ready to negotiate. That even came from Russia themselves.
