Ethan Skolnick: Miami Heat

:dwillhuh: I can't believe these dudes admitted this.

Its really embarrassing that two supremely talented players are basically playing the game to make sure they don't hurt their shooting percentages rather than playing within the flow of the game. Its one thing to not take bad shots and play within the game. Its an entirely different thing to play the game with your individual stats in mind rather than just trying to win the game.

I sort of always got that vibe from LeBron but its sad that D-Wade has now adopted the same position. This is the reason I like Durant over Bron and Wade. Durant don't give a fukk whether he is 0-10 or 10-10. If the next shot they get is a good look you best believe its going up and you best believe he expects it to go in.

We all know that if LeBron starts the game off cold, he loses all his aggressiveness (see the Finals against Dallas).

Gimme Durant and his 50% shooting anyday of the week over LeBron's I don't wanna hurt my FG% so I won't take this open shot syndrome.

It's clear to see this when you watch the games too.

I have to dig up the post where I basically said, Durant doesn't play for numbers. He's going to get his, but it's not like he's out there targeting specifically what he's going for besides the W.

Rose is the same way.

Found it...

Here's the thread that was made about how many games it took for KD to get his first triple double...

I posted...

Durant probably doesn't set out to go for a triple double. He comes off as the type that just wants to win and isn't concerned about putting up the prettiest numbers.

Rose is the same way.

It's hard to explain.

KD plays his game. If he gets a triple double it just happens. He isn't going to pass up a good shot to get an assist. He's going to do what he does and let the stats come to him.

Well, that's my observation of his game at least. He seems like the type that is just playing to win, and he'll contribute to the team where ever he sees fit.

This thread just confirms what many suspected on how some of these guys play, especially LeBron.

Wanting to shoot 50% from the field isn't stat padding. That means they're focusing on taking good shots. If they were checking the stat sheet for their point or assist totals like many on here assume Rondo do, then there would be a problem. I think it's a good thing when a player is bothered by 9 for 21. Kobe is out there going 10 for 32 and his team is below .500. THAT is a problem. Chucking up a bunch of shots without regard for your field goal % is a problem.

The arenas put the players stats up on the score board. I'm sure :troll: is checking to make sure he gets credited for his assists

i'm a kobe fan but the level of ignorance here is impressive. :snoop:

Worrying about being efficient is NOT stat padding. But of course some of these obsessed groupies will say anything to make their hero look good. Disgustya

The thing is Kobe is probably a top 5 jump shooter all time, its just that he takes shots at the wrong time. Doing spin moves and then fading away from 3 players contesting his shot. Doing a 5-10 dribbles, wasting time time, defense puts pressure and he take a contested shot. His decision making as an offensive player is not even close to that of a KD or Lebron. In fact I think he has a slightly average bball IQ, his talent and determination is so immense that it makes it hard to see that.

Look at Jordan game highlights. Simple pumpfake, one dribble jumpshot, swish. Running around a screen, catch, shoot, swish. Posting up, two dribbles, fade away, swish. Dude didn't overwork himself or keep his teammates wondering long, defenses couldn't react quick enough either. KD is the same way.

it seems more than that tho?

from my interpretation of the quote, they saying they dont even wanna take half court shots (that have a chance to go in and influence the game) in order for their FG% to not drop

thats selfish imo

Not taking a tough shot at the end of a half because of fear of messing up your shooting percentage is bytchmade and is typical Bron/Wade... These two phakkits wear lip gloss and capri pants to games
