so cause they dont take whole court 3s at the end of the half/game they are stat padding? gotcha![]()
smh,Forget Kobe.
Durant shoots 50% from the field and he doesn't stat pad like Bron and Wade. Durant takes good looks whether he's hot or not. He throws up shots at the end of halves. He doesn't play the game to protect his fg% the way Bron/Wade do.
Respond to that. The issue here isn't about taking high percentage shots. The issue is the fact that Bron/Wade would rather not take a half court heave at the end of quarters because they want to shoot 50%, rather than possibly making that low percentage shot and getting their team 3 more points in the game.
That is the POINT. Stop this straw man argument. I think Kobe plays the wrong way alot of time as well when he takes contested shots when his teammates are open and he's cold. But its also bad when you pass up good looks in the flow of the game because you think the likelihood is high you'll miss the shot and you don't want to hurt your fg% at the end of the game.
That sort of mindset is EMBARRASSING. Period. Players shouldn't play the game with the box score in mind. Players should play the game with winning in mind. If throwing up a half court heave at the end of quarters helps your team win the game then you should do it. Even if that means you sacrifice your own personal stats.
Its stat padding because he is not doing whats best for the team. But whats best for his individual stats. Not willing to throw up them half court shots at the end of games is stat padding. But even though its a small chance it will go in that extra 3 points can decide a game.

smh,
mentioning Durant throughout this thread to make that chucker Kobe look better. You aint slick nikka.
The best teams, without fail, are the most efficient. Having your best players emphasize efficiency will NEVER be a bad thing. This is especially important for teams with multiple high end scorers....opportunities are going be fewer but your looks SHOULD be better.
The fukk does it matter whether or not a nikka takes 40 footer at the end of the quarter??? People actually pay attention to something that silly???

I knew it as soon as Bron was scrambling to get that last rebound for a triple double before the buzzer sounded then got interviewed and said he had no idea what his stat line looked like.

If Bron/Wade start a game off 4-12, you best believe they'll stop taking what would normally be good looks to save their FG%. Kobe/Durant don't care whether they start 4-12, if the next shot is a good look, they're taking it and believe it'll go in.
Give me someone like Kobe/Durant who only care about the W not the box score.
