I agree with you, fam. I am saying, as a sports fan, I know my first instinct is to think that veteran teammates are there to help kids through it, kind of an example of how we don't always apply our everyday empathy to these players. Ever since I started listening to Dan Lebatard show, it got me looking at everything in sports differently.For what though? It's not like any of these guys grew up with him or are actual family with him, they all just played basketball with him, for a few years and shyt. I'm sure Paul Pierce has other people in his own family who would need the help before Delonte. shyt sounds harsh but you can't really save/help everybody; plus I know, as you said in your post, from personal experience that helping out family with demons is a mother fukker and their shyt can end up consuming YOUR life if you let it.
