To educated basketball fans LeBron legacy and career will always be contextualized by playin in the JV conference. Dwight was the only true superstar competition in Least and he beat LeBron H2H as a big underdog w/o HCA or his AS guard Jameer. Then DRose too but he only had 1 healthy prime season and LeBron already done made a superteam

Luka is 7 years deep in The West, 0 titles, 1 Finals appearance. Ant is in Year 5 so it's time for him to start cashing in on some Finals appearances soon. Same for Shai, 7 years deep, no Finals appearances. Booker, 10 years in, 1 Finals run, no championship...

The Lakers are a franchise that has been mediocre for the better part of 15 years. They cycle thru coaches, make questionable roster decisions, and we're the losingest franchise in The League before Bron got here. He's been the only consistent bright spot for them for years, when he retires (and I hope it's this summer or next year), there's nothing this organization has done in recent memory to instill confidence they will be back to consistent contention...

I can use the old excuse because the version of Bron The West has been competing against, ain't the perennial MVP candidate of his youth. You know it, I know it, we all know it, so the age and tread on the tires matters...
I do agree that he keeps hanging on and I've been vocal for YEARS now that he's doing himself a disservice. There's nothing left to prove, he's done everything you can do in the sport. He still has bursts of greatness but he's CLEARLY a declining player year over year. I've wanted him to retire for awhile. I hope he announces it soon, but I think he wants the record for longest career, which will be next year, Year 23. So before next season begins, I hope he announces that this is it...
