I think ultimately neither one of them wanted to play each other first round. In Clippers case at least u can use the excuse rest starters before playoffs. Lakers had a lot of drama, Bron n brow in and out the lineup. I just knew somehow they wouldn't meet first round.NAH CLIPS ACTUALLY DUCKED
THE LAKERS

Who said anything about assigned? Also height doesn’t always make a difference. Why would a point guard be assigned to defend a 6'9 wing? Y'all are already being annoying![]()
Lakers ducked a potential first round Clippers matchup to give us this play-in game gem. Just what the game needed.. Let's go Chef.

Well one would have to assume that the Lakers have absolutely no fear of the Clippers. I guess we prolly disagree here. I think fear is on both sides just a bit more on the Lakers side. I don't see the Lakers dying to play their biggest threat in their conference in the first round with their star players tryna get they chemistry n health back simultaneously. Just my opinion tho..NAH LAKERS TRIED TO
WIN THESE LAST 5 GAMES
TO GET THE 6TH SEED
AND THE CLIPPERS MADE SURE
THEY FELL TO 4.

Exactly my thoughtsI'd say there's about a 10-15% chance right now that these two meet again in the West Finals. Both Jazz and Suns are on instant upset alert in Rd1, no matter which of these they draw both Dubs and Lakers can beat both...
Dubs are peaking at the right time, and Lakers are getting healthy and winning at the right time. Rather have dealt with LeBron and AD injuries when they did, than for Lakers to have been healthy all year, locked up the 1 or 2 seed then a month ago, AD gets hurt, abd 2 weeks ago, Bron gets hurt, then go into the playoffs as the 1 or 2 with both missing the first round...
Do not be surprised if this turns into the WCF. I won't be...
nikkas don't know how the shyt work but called me slowThat's not how the play-in works
I'm convinced no one on this board understands the play-in tournament![]()

I was told and convinced that Curry was a great defender. I was given evidence/stats/video of him doing a great job(some would even say shutting down) on the likes of Russ and Lebron.
“According to NBA.com/Stats, James has had 26 possessions with Curry as his primary defender in the first three games of the Finals, almost nine per game. These possessions have come primarily toward the ends of games, when James methodically slows the offense, points at Curry’s man, and calls for a screen, at which point the Warriors’ switching defense demands Curry switch onto James. In the 26 times this has happened, James has zero points. He’s taken five shots, missing all five, and he’s never been fouled in the act of shooting. This from a player averaging 37.7 points in the Finals—but, apparently, zero against Golden State’s worst defender.”
Why Isn’t LeBron James Dominating the Mismatch Against Steph Curry?
ya’ll ought to be ashamed to be a Stan
Facts are also that teams have historically sat their best players prior to the playoffs and it's not uncommon for that team to lose to inferior teams because of it.....we can do this all day lol. But I never said Clips didn't have fear, I believe Lakers have a little more.nikka WE TALKING ABOUT FACTS
NOT "FEELINGS"
THE FACTS ARE LAL WON
THEIR LAST 4 GAMES
AND LOST A CLOSE ONE AT PORTLAND
WITH A 36PT PERFORMANCE FROM AD...
WHILE THE CLIPPERS
SAT KAWHI/PG AND
LOST THE FINAL 2 GAMES
OF THE SEASON AGAINST THE
2 WORST & INTENTIONALLY TANKING
TEAMS IN THE LEAGUE.
