My first serious relationship was with a girl from The Bronx, so I spent a lot of time up there and I think it's given me a greater appreciation of it than the average Brooklyn breh.

In general, a lot of native New Yorkers have pretty parochial views of the rest of the city. The way a lot of people talk, we may as well be living in five different cities :mjlol:

My fam still lives in Concourse Village... Yea I don't see it changing around there anytime soon:francis:

Now the valley might be interesting in a decade or two after CO op gets that metro north stop. I keep seeing a couple luxury Apts pop up :ehh:

Co op has always been underdeveloped for what it was supposed to be...

Adequate transportation should have been happened

Lol Bronx pride is stronger than Bronx hate. Is what it is. Born and raised and love my borough. Most culturally diverse borough. Some of the best parks and shopping centers in the city. Hottest caribbean and latin music/food scene. Best summer block parties. Still that authentic 80s and 90s hit-the-streets, the-whole-block-is-family NYC feel. Come to the Bronx on a beautiful sunny July day, see how we get it poppin, and tell me we not the livest borough all day.

:blessed:

Yeah a lot of the hate is ignorant and annoying. I work in television broadcatsing. One of my first jobs was for News 12 the Bronx. The place was in the borough but it was full of white folks from Long Island, NJ, Westchester every place but the Bronx. So of course they all had paranoid chips on their shoulders about having to work in the Bronx. Most of them were scared to fukking death to walk anywhere outside the building gate. The amount of ignorant shyt I would hear...sometimes from other black people no less. :snoop: That was always annoying as fukk to watch black folks express their fear of other black people and their resentment of "the ghetto" in front of white folks, trying to appease their racism. :snoop: I was one of the few that wore my black pride and my Bronx pride all over that motherfukker. Made it known I aint the one to come bytch about "the Bronx" too.

They were always shocked when I would go outside on my break just to chill out, grab a sandwich, get some fresh air. It was like an act of courage to these cacs.

"OMG youre gonna walk over to the store right next door? Arent you worried"

:damn:

"No i live here actually"

:hhh:

"Im so scared id get shot"

:damn:

":hhh::hhh::hhh:"
"Do you sell drugs?":hhh::hhh:
"Are you fukkin someones wife?" :hhh::hhh:
"Are people after you? You need protection or something? I can get you help." :hhh::hhh:

I couldnt stand that place.

Keep slandering the BX if you want. It scares a lot of undesirable people away, which is fine with me. Being from the BX is like having a Purple Heart. That shyt rings bells anywhere. It’s like a laminated pass that grants you some higher level of respect than you would get if you from anywhere else. We own our imperfections more than any spot.

So yeah, we’re fine with the slander, especially since nobody says that shyt to our faces. Nothing like our energy,

BX has mad hills out of nowhere.
it's a coastal joint that goes up from the coast without mountains.
one time i was coming in to NYC from somewhere with this Brazilian chick next to me.
she asked to look out my window and i said of course.
she looked out upon the city and said "Where are the mountains?"
i said "You see those buildings? Those are the mountains."

:wow:
