Yes, and got caught since they put the deal in writing (:mindblown:). Lost 5 draft picks and all parts involved got some hefty fines and Stern said he was just setting an example, the next time someone tries to pull some shyt like that... :whew:

Damn all for average Joe Smith? :bryan:

The stoop with dat dope fanny padding
He is OBVIOUSLY getting some money on the side.

Same with Blache. People can say "well he's getting that amnesty money" but at the end of the day, he could have gotten significantly more than the 1.2 million he got from another team.

How is it obvious?

AK47's agent fukked up and had him opt out thinking he could get a longer term deal for the same money but no one was giving it to him. The Nets didn't even look at AK until Bogdanovic's buyout fell through last week and they needed another wing player. It's not like he opted out of his deal and signed with the Nets 5 hours later. Owners are just pissed that Prok gives zero fukks about the tax which they thought would stop big spending teams.

Also, interesting how he didn't have any deals on the table that he passed on for the Nets after he opted out. He was available for 2 weeks and got no legitimate offers, so who's to say he wouldn't have signed a lesser deal for another team anyway?

Monte Ellis just opted out of $11 million to sign for for 8 mil a year with the Mavs, where's the outrage that he's being paid under the table to make up for it? There's not because everyone knows Ellis and his agent fukked that up, which is the same mistake AK47 made.

And Blatche is simple. He has said since last season he wanted to sign for the least amount of money possible to fukk the Wizards over and make them have to pay him most of his Wizards contract. And he did just that, and maybe he likes playing for us since we gave him a shot last season, and he's gonna play big minutes on a East contender this season.

Ellis's salary went down because teams have figured him out; he's the kinda players that keeps teams in mediocrity if you pay him too much.

Kirilenko's numbers are almost exactly the same as his numbers from 2 years ago (he spent '11-'12 in Europe). Played the same amount of games too. I'd understand if AK47 went from 10 to 7 million, but a 70% drop is kinda suspicious to me.

Yes, but he opted out 2 weeks ago clearly thinking he could get a better deal, and couldn't. The Nets only looked at him when our buyout fell through and we needed him.

At this point to say it's a 70% drop doesn't make sense, because he opted out of the 10 million never thinking he'd be on the Nets for 3 since we only went after him in an emergency. If our buyout for Bogs went through we would have never signed AK and he'd still be out there looking for a deal.

Whos to say he doesn't sign a week from now for well under the 10 mil he gave up, and the story then would be how his agent fukked up (like Ellis') and not how the Nets are paying him under the table.

so by paying the product (athletes) that is exploited by college sports, pro sports are in fact the exploiters?

i was drunk when i wrote that :heh:

didnt word it write, of course athletes are gettin paid by the pros but thats only a small percentage. idk it seems like the huge amount of revenue that gets generated by college sports doesnt go to the right ppl

while there is a good chance ak could be getting paid under the table, the market clearly dried up for him. he's older and is not needed for a rebuilding team with cap space (bobcats, kings, etc.) and most contenders are set. so of all the teams that offered him the mid level, this team made most sense cause of their roster and familiarity with owner.

Everyone would love an owner like this(wanting to win at any cost). Stern accepted a self admitted criminal (most rich are criminals but that's another story) so he can't do or say anything now. It obviously should have been expected but i highly doubt this isn't happening with other GMs/players.

And why would any agent expect this dude to get a large contract from another team? The only thing i thought when he opted out was he wanted to get out of Minny (which still could be true) but him going for a bigger contract, that's like Paul Pierce voiding his contract to look for a bigger one, it wouldn't make ANY SENSE.
